Boxing Day Races - Palmerston North

Did anyone go to the boxing day races in Palmerston North?  Boxing day races is usually about the trackside party.  Things may have changed now that you can't take your own alcohol.  Anyone on theforumpost go?  What was it like?
The weather certainly was stunning in Palmerston North yesterday.  The prediction is for a nice long hot 2008/2009 summer.  Nice.

Palmerston North's Cafe Nero - maybe the top restaurant in New Zealand

They call it a Nero's day.  Beautiful sunshine, nice and still, private outdoor dining area, shade umbrellas up... the perfect day for a chicken caesor salad and an amstal light.  Definately the top restaurant in Palmerston North in my opinion.  Big hint is to book first - 354 0312.

Palmerston North has highest IQ per capita of any NZ city

I read an article in the Central Today magazine that comes out each month saying that the city of Palmerston North has the highest IQ per capita of any city in New Zealand.  Nice!

The best coffee in Palmerston North

I just had a late lunch and am pleased to say that the coffee I just had was the best I've had all week.  Julia from MaoBar made her second coffee ever, and it was superb - lots of love and care put into that one.  I'm sure she has been trained by one of the best.
The coffee in MaoBar is consistently very good, which I'm sure is why people keep returning.  They seem to be Palmerston North's busiest cafe at the moment.  Nice job team!

junKtion Spring 08 - music from Palmerston North

I went to the exhibition that was put on by UCOL BAVI students (currently at Te Manawa) and picked up a free CD that one of the designers had done the branding for.  Very cool music.  I especially like tracks 17 & 18.  You can download the tracks free from www.junKtion.co.nz
