I am going to take some French courses soon with my girlfriend. We are totally beginners (only know "Bonjour") and probably need to start from the very beginning. Is anyone good at French or familiar with this romantic language so that you can give us some tips before we start learning it?

All I know is an é like in the word café its pronounced as an 'aye'. And 'oi' is prounounced like 'wah' e.g Francois (frun-swah), or foie gras (fwah grah).
