Computerworld - Samsung has sold 1 million Galaxy Tab tablet devices worldwide just two months after putting it on sale outside the U.S., and all four major wireless U.S. carriers starting sales in mid-November.Nike air max shoes The larger 9.7-inch screen Apple iPad tablet hit the 1 million sold mark just one month after going on sale in April. Nonetheless, the Samsung sales results show that the Android-based, 7-inch touchscreen of the Galaxy Tab is indeed popular as well. The Thanksgiving holiday likely helped spur sales in the U.S., although Samsung has not revealed sales figures for specific regions. A Samsung spokesperson confirmed that global sales had reached the 1 million sales. Individual carriers recently said they were encouraged by Galaxy Tab sales, but did not reveal any specific figures. The 9.7-inch touchscreen iPad is undoubtedly going to dominate the tablet market for some time, with more than 4 million sold in Apple's fourth quarter that ended in Oct. 31. Analysts have estimated that more than 8 million iPads had been sold overall prior to the Thanksgiving holiday.Nike air max shoes 2009 Samsung and Google's Android mobile OS could be considered the biggest winners with the early success of the Galaxy Tab. His e-mail address is LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. -- The Nationals are ready to win and they made it know by agreeing to terms with free-agent outfielder Jayson Werth, who is getting a seven-year deal worth $126 million. Nike air max shoes 360 After losing free agent Adam Dunn to the Chicago White Sox, the Nationals had money to spend. Werth, 31, will help replace Dunn's bat in the middle of the Nats' lineup. The Nationals are not concerned that Werth will be 38 by the time the deal is done. The move means that Werth will play right field and protect Ryan Zimmerman in the lineup. The Nationals like Werth because he provides power, speed and defense, which has been a problem for the club the last three years. General manager Mike Rizzo called him one of the top targets during the offseason. "I think everyone is uncomfortable giving any player a seven-year deal," Rizzo said. "Sometimes, you have to give the years to get the players. With that said, we feel that this is the type of guy to get a long-term deal because he takes good care of his body." Werth had arguably his best year in the big leagues this past season, hitting .296 with 27 home runs, 85 RBIs, 106 runs scored and 13 stolen bases for the Phillies. By many accounts, Werth carried the Phillies in 2010, when Ryan Howard, Jimmy Rollins and Chase Utley each missed time with injuries. "He is certainly happy that he picked Washington. It's going to be the start of something great," Rizzo said. "When there is a player that fits in what we are trying to do, we are going to go after him and acquire him. We see this guy trending the right way. "We feel Jayson has the abilities -- offensive and defensively. He will fill any hole that was left by Adam Dunn or anybody else in the middle of the lineup. I think our evaluators have seen him improve the last three years to a point where we still think that his best days are still ahead of him. He drives in runs, he scores runs, he prevents runs. We feel that he is an elite player and an elite pickup for us." Nike air max shoes Tn The talks between Werth and the Nationals became serious after the General Manager Meetings. Rizzo, managing principal owner Ted Lerner and principal owner Mark Lerner met with Werth in California. They explained their game plan to the right-handed-hitting slugger, who was impressed with the plan for future. Rizzo also said he was "blown away" by how Werth asked questions about the team. "It kind of exemplifies Phase 2 of the Washington Nationals' process," Rizzo said. "Phase 1 was scouting and development, build the farm system type of program. We feel like we're well on our way of doing that, and now it's the time to go to the second phase, and really compete for division titles and championships. Werth has some connections to his new club. Washington manager Jim Riggleman was an assistant coach for the Dodgers while Werth was playing there, and Werth's uncle formerly was a teammate of Rizzo's. "For Jayson and his experiences in Philadelphia, and learning from many great players there and advancing his career, [the idea is] that he would certainly come into the locker room and display a winning attitude and provide the Nationals with something that he learned during his Major League career," said Scott Boras, Werth's agent. Werth's departure creates a hole in the Phillies' lineup. Werth had an .889 on-base-plus-slugging percentage the past three seasons, which ranked 10th in the Majors for right-handed hitters and fifth among right-handed-hitting outfielders. His 87 home runs ranked eighth among right-handed hitters and second to Milwaukee's Ryan Braun (94) among right-handed-hitting outfielders. As for Rizzo, he is not done trying to improve the Nationals. The team is looking for a left-handed-hitting first baseman. Carlos Pena remains the top target, but they have competition in the Orioles and Cubs. A baseball source said his first choice is to play for the Rays, the team he played for last year. The Nationals are not concerned that Pena hit .196 last year. They like the fact that he is a leader who could help young players such as shortstop Ian Desmond and second baseman Danny Espinosa. If Pena decides to go elsewhere, look for the Nationals to go hard after Adam LaRoche, another defensive-minded first baseman. He had the best year of his career in 2010, driving in 100 runs for the D-Backs.nike air max on sale Iran on Sunday claimed for the first time to have used domestically mined uranium ore to make the material needed for uranium enrichment. It called the step a major advance in its atomic program, sending a defiant message before a new round of talks on Iran’s suspect nuclear activities. Western experts said the progress appeared to be more symbolic than substantive and did not bear immediately on whether Iran could accelerate its efforts at enriching uranium, which can fuel either reactors or atom bombs. But Iran’s successful processing of uranium ore from a domestically mined source, which it has been working on for years, suggested the Iranians had found a way to bypass United Nations sanctions that ban them from importing raw uranium. The announcement also reflected Iran’s intention to show it remains undaunted in its pursuit of nuclear capabilities despite some significant recent setbacks. Those setbacks include increased economic isolation from a range of United Nations sanctions, the mysterious bombing attacks on two Iranian nuclear scientists in Tehran last week and an acknowledgment by President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad that some of Iran’s centrifuges, used to purify uranium, had been successfully singled out by Internet saboteurs using malignant software. The White House said Sunday that Iran’s announcement was not unexpected but that it reinforced international suspicions about Iran’s motives for enriching uranium at all. In Tehran on Sunday, Ali Akbar Salehi, the head of Iran’s nuclear program, said the country had succeeded for the first time in domestically producing uranium concentrate from uranium ore mined inside Iran. The concentrate, known as yellowcake, is a precursor to the uranium fed into spinning centrifuges for enrichment.
