Who would have known that it could be such a teen hit? Why not? The characters are such lovely teenagers who are pretty much going through what other teenagers are going through. The themes are similar to what happens to most teenagers. It’s about lost love.

You know, when you were young once you probably have liked somebody enough and you wished it would last for all eternity but then it didn’t. That’s what happened in New Moon and the story is about sticking to one’s past or just moving on with a new love. That experience is totally new to a teenager who was just ditched by a boyfriend for morally higher reasons or what not and is finding a prospect in someone new. Emotionally, that’s not easy for a teenager to deal with considering it hasn’t happened in his or her life often enough, duh!

So the whole story is basically about the emotional journey of this young woman who is discovering herself through her ex and current boyfriend. It’s really an old theme and a classic one at that for most young ladies who define their existence pretty much with the guy in their lives but they can’t help it because perhaps it’s just the way they were preconditioned since childhood. Gender issues aside, New Moon is an enthralling movie for those who would like to indulge in the world of teenagers and how they see life, which is really simple but compounded by the unexplained and newly discovered feelings and reactions to stimuli.

Simply put, the movie is relatable to a much wider audience considering the demographics. Even some people haven’t really outgrown their teenage years. So, New Moon was a good project to get into and it turns out to be a very lucrative one at that.
